Very surreal for me, seeing this! I went to school there back during the 80's (5th grade to 8th), and only just heard about this today. Sounds like they tore the old school down in order to build the new Mountain View Elementary School in its' place. Same as how they tore down the old Easthampton High School to replace it with a newer building. It's been many years since I've lived in Easthampton, and I'd wager I would scarcely recognize the old city if I headed back that way now. It is shocking how time changes things! :)

My father is in this video and you zoom in on him at 3:32. He sang with the SSO Chorus for two years and was diagnosed with cancer six days after performing here. He passed away in 2013 and spoke often about how much he loved his time singing with this group. I come back to this video often around the holidays to watch him sing. Thank you for posting this video.

Oh I loved this! I used to live above the sunrise bakery for about 2 years. Watching this was like going on a little trip back in time. Those were my favorite years and I think of them very fondly. It was my first place on my own. Tom that owns the ice cream shop was my neighbor and I remember when he first opened it up, he's such a great guy! I lived there when smokin lils was on cottage st. next to Amy's place if you remember that. I worked there and then Shelbourne falls coffee roasters for a bit. Oh man this was amazing thanks so much for making this, I can't wait to see all your other videos! Have a beer at the brass cat for me please if it's still there and you go, I miss that bar. Oh peanuts.. the biker bar... gosh I'm reaching here I'll be bugging you forever if i don't stop now , thanks again!
